It’s also possible to arrange weddings at the latter two venues if you fancy killing two birds with one stone! One hotel that is often recommended for couples searching for the ultimate in opulence is Disney’s Victorian-style Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Don’t be put off by the fact that it’s owned by the famous cartoon company; this really is a hotel for grown-ups, with both its exterior and interior exuding luxury and class.Other highly-rated hotels include The Courtyard at Lake Lucerne, which is popular thanks to its historic Victorian buildings, and the Villas of Grand Cypress resort, which is the perfect destination for keen golfers in particular.

Relaxing spas
There’s nothing quite like indulging in a spa treatment or two to really make your honeymoon a relaxing getaway. There are many spas in and around Orlando that offer special packages for couples, making this an excellent destination for newlyweds.

Popular spas include those at the Waldorf Astoria and the Ritz-Carlton – the latter of which is the biggest in Orlando – as well as Mandara Spa, which is especially ideal if you only want to enjoy a day of treatments, rather than actually stay at a spa hotel. For a slightly different experience, head to Shala Salon Spa to try the only Turkish bath in the whole of Orlando.

Fantastic restaurants
Honeymoons offer a great excuse to really indulge yourself with some fine dining and excellent wine. Recommended restaurants include HUE, which serves up French-influenced American cuisine in an intimate setting, and the luxurious Boheme at the Grand Bohemian Hotel, which is popular among locals for special occasions.

Elsewhere, Cafe Trastevere is the place to go if you associate Italian food with romance. The restaurant serves up dishes from around Italy in a wonderfully cosy setting, and is ideal for a spot of al fresco dining on warm evenings.

Great attractions
If you want to do a little more on your honeymoon than simply relax and eat (although that’s surely the perfect break for many couples!), Orlando has enough things to see and do to make your getaway a truly varied one.

Popular attractions include SeaWorld and Gatorland for some wildlife-spotting, as well as Bok Tower Gardens – a national historic landmark ideal for a romantic stroll or two.
