Aircraft Manufacturing & Development Co. Inc (AMD) in Eastman GA USA is delivering aircraft 7-8 of a 10 aircraft fleet order to Salt Lake City Community College of Utah, USA. Each of the 10 aircraft is equipped with the following advanced avionics. The Garmin GNS 430 NAV/COMM/GPS, Garmin GI-106A VOR/GS indicator, Garmin GMA 340 audio Panel, Garmin GTX 327 Transponder and separate encoder, Bendix/King KX 155 NAV/COMM and Bendix/King KI 209 VOR/GS indicator. The above avionics are standard equipment in all new Alarus CH2000 aircraft. However, in addition to the above avionics, all 10 of the Salt Lake City Community College aircraft are equipped with the new Sandel digital HSI, the SN3308…
This takes the aircraft to a new level, giving Commercial Students excellent avionics training. Salt Lake City Community College used to contract all their aircraft training to local schools that operated old Cessna aircraft. Training used to cost Salt Lake City Community College students $65.00 per hour. The aircraft were poorly equipped and were always being maintained. With the Alarus CH2000 aircraft, students are still paying $65.00 per hour, have comfortable and roomy new aircraft, and are able to use the latest avionics. The digital HSI and Garmin GNS 430 gives the students a panel only found in much larger aircraft.
The Alarus CH2000 aircraft is FAA Type Certified UTILITY and IFR, and also certified in all E.C. counties, India, Australia and Canada. The aircraft is manufactured out of similar material as used by Cessna and Piper (aluminum) and uses the reliable Lycoming engine 0235. The aircraft is used by flying schools for basic and advanced IFR training, and by private pilots who want a very solid and easy to fly aircraft. Cost of the aircraft starts at $119,000.00 U.S. which includes two Nav/COM’s and an IFR certified airframe, with lightning protection. Typical operating cost of the aircraft is under $35.00 per hour, which includes engine TBO reserve, insurance, maintenance, fuel and oil.
AMD also offers a full cabin Flight Simulator that is FAA PC-ATD certified and a 141 ground school training program.

Due to the disastrous events of 9-11-01, many schools around the world are rethinking their pilot training needs. Avionics and IFR training is more important than ever. The CH2000 is an ideal solution to their problems. They can up-date their existing schools with the Alarus CH2000 aircraft. This gives their students an edge and increases the schools profit margins. The CH2000 is typically rented out for $75-80.00 per hour.
